  • If you would like to review books for the journal, please email our Book Review Editor in the first instance, Dr Victoria Lorrimar.

We are receiving fewer hard copies of books to be reviewed since COVID. If you would like to review a specific title, please send an email with your suggestion. We can usually source review copies from the press. If you want to review for us but are short on ideas, one good clearing house for titles is Reading Religion.

We like to prioritise reviews of books written by AASR members – see list below. Current members of the AASR with a title to recommend for review published in 2023, or 2024, please email Victoria so she can add it to this list. Recommendations can be your own books or someone else’s.

Reviews should be approximately 800 words in length and all quotations require references. We generally request a three month turn-around time on reviews.
